fire and smoke damaged home Smoke residue from fire damage is a job for SERVPRO. Our fire damage restoration techs have the training and experience in all phases needed.

For Professional, Thorough Restoration of your Seal Beach Home, Call SERVPRO. What Is The Biggest Threat To My Home?

Physical fire damage to Seal Beach homes is often limited. SERVPRO technicians understand that the smoke residues if left on surfaces too long, can pit, stain, and cause other damage, which can be more expensive than what the heat and flames did.

Where Do Technicians Begin?

They start with two basic principles to thoroughly clean fire damaged property in Seal Beach and restore it for the best possible result.

Find and identify the type of residues: One of our estimators determines the extent of the damage, the type of residues (dry and powdery versus wet and sticky, for example), and the surfaces where they adhere. This first principle allows the estimator to determine what cleaners and tools are needed to complete the task of restoring the home.

Capture and remove residues: It is necessary to suspend or capture residues before removing them. Capturing them using air or fluids allows our technicians to quickly suspend them for safe removal off surfaces without causing further damage to any personal or structural property.

How Exactly Do Technicians Capture And Remove Them?

SERVPRO technicians primarily use vacuuming and dissolving the residues to pull them off and out of everything from ceiling tiles to carpets.

  • Vacuuming – Since smoke residues contain particles of primarily carbon, many of the residues we remove are dry and powder. That means they merely rest on the surface or are only loosely attached at best, making them easily removed by a vacuum or even by wiping down surfaces like glass and metal with a cloth or dry sponge.
  • Dissolving – Wet or sticky particles adhere far more tightly to surfaces and require water or a cleaning agent to remove them. Water and cleaners surround the residues in a suspension so that technicians can wipe them off with sponges, squeegees, or mops, depending on the type of surface.
